Maleme – Location & Access

Eria Resort is located in the coastal and historical village of Máleme, in the north-western part of the prefecture of Hania.
The privileged position of Máleme and its direct access to the highway connecting Haniá-Réthimno and Chaniá-Kastélli enables you to easily access the entire prefecture of Hania, as well as the rest of Crete.

The area is easily accessible by wheelchair!
As all the Greek villages, it is developed around Agios (Saint) Antonios Church
The east-south part, is surrounded by olive trees, orange trees and vineyards, the west north part meets the long fine pebble beach!

People are very friendly and welcoming, it is enough to use few Greek words like kalimera (good morning) and they will speak with you and offer you flowers from their gardens or fruits from their orange tree…!
Between the village and the beach there is a main street where we can find the every day facilities including pharmacy, medical centre and other shops, like pottery, cloths, jewellery, souvenirs etc

Máleme beach has been renovated last years and it is accessible!
A large wood ramp plus the hotel free of charge floating wheel chair give you the possibility to swim in one of the most clean, pretty and deep blue sea water, of Crete!
The beach is well organized and provides all kind of facilities such as sun-chairs, umbrellas, showers and sea sports!

There are cafes, bars and local restaurants, (Tavernas) along the waterfront road, some of them with accessible toilets.
The night life is good but if you want more intense nightlife just try the nearby cities of Platanias and Chania.
Máleme is near the knot of the new National Road, making it easy to travel everywhere in Crete!
